Training Computer in Polar FT4F
The Polar FT4F’s training computer makes your training sessions easy and comfortable. The training computer acts as a pretting good motivator to achieve your training goals every time you workout. At the same time, it makes your training fun and enjoyable.
The training computer automatically measures and displays your heart rate signal related data and other readings when you are training. Polar FT4F has a transmitter called the ‘wearlink’ transmitter which is responsible for transmitting the heart rate signals to the training computer of the heart rate monitor. The wearlink transmitter has a strap and a connector.
The training computer in Polar FT4F gets activated if you press and hold any button on your monitor for one second. It cannot be switched off once activated. You can choose any of the following languages – English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Deutsch, Suomi & Svenska. You can enter all the basic information to the training computer in the language that you choose. The user information can be edited at a later time. The user data is of paramount importance for accurate measurements of your heart rate.
Target Zone
Polar FT4F heart rate monitor watch helps in effective, efficient and safe training sessions with its age-based target zone feature. The target zone limits of your heart rate are automatically determined by the training computer. The limits are determined according to your maximum heart rate for your age. it is calculated as 220-age. Your personal heart rate target zone is defined automatically based on these zone limits. However, you can manually change the zone limits.
Note: Maximum heart rate is the highest no. of heartbeats in a minute (bpm) during maximum physical exertion. It is advised that you modify the default value only if you are aware of the laboratory-measured value.
Wearlink Transmitter
Before you wear the wearlink transmitter, you need to wet the electrode areas of the transmitter strap. Then , the connector must be attached to the strap. The strap length can be adjusted so that it fits you comfortably. Then the strap should be tied around your chest. The wet electrode areas must be firmly against your skin. When you are not using the transmitter, it is advised to detach the connector from the strap. This can increase the durability of the transmitter. HeartTouch
The HeartTouch feature in the Polar FT4F heart rate monitor watch enables button-free operation of the monitor. When you are training in the HeartTouch mode, you can access various training information without pressing any buttons.
Key Lock feature in Polar FT4F heart rate monitor
With the keylock feature, you can prevent accidental usage of the training computer by locking the buttons of the Polar FT4F’s training computer during training sessions.
Totals and Training Files
To help you track your training sessions accurately, Polar FT4F shows you totals that include training data beginning from the last reset of the monitor. You can save up to 10 training files that include summaries of your training sessions.
